Description
The PP Sulzer Double Stage Salt Centrifuge model is a specialized perforated basket centrifuge that provides continuous and efficient separation, specifically designed for salt and similar substances. This centrifuge operates in two distinct stages, namely the first stage basket and the second stage basket.
1. Feeding and Distribution: The mixture to be separated, which typically consists of salt and other components, is continuously and evenly fed into the first stage basket through a feeding pipe and a distributor. The distributor ensures uniform distribution of the mixture within the basket.
2. Separation in the First Stage: As the mixture enters the first stage basket, the centrifugal force acts on it. This force causes most of the mother liquor (liquid) in the mixture to pass through the sieves of the basket. The separated mother liquor collects in a liquor-collecting casing and is discharged from the machine.
3. Reciprocation and Pushing: The first stage basket not only rotates but also reciprocates. This reciprocating motion helps push the formed product cake from the first stage basket into the second stage basket.
4. Second Stage Separation: Once the cake reaches the second stage basket, it experiences a higher centrifugal force. This increased force allows for further separation and ensures the desired moisture content of the cake is achieved. The cake remains retained in the basket while any remaining liquid is discharged.
5. Continuous Cake Discharge: After reaching the desired moisture content, the cake is continuously discharged from the basket. This allows for a continuous and uninterrupted separation process.
6. Washing Capability: The Model PP Sulzer Double Stage Salt Centrifuge also offers effective washing capabilities. If a high purity level is required for the solid product, the centrifuge can carry out a washing process. Washing agents and mother liquor can be discharged separately if necessary.
